Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Call Requirement: Yes – Weekend and Weeknight Call Rotation
Local Candidates: Not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the facility
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal (GI) procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong endoscopy experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary procedural team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures by completing assessments and educating patients and families.
- Assist physicians during endoscopy procedures while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition throughout procedures and recovery.
- Administer medications and moderate sedation as ordered and according to facility policies.
- Recognize and respond promptly to patient complications or emergencies.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Recent Endoscopy/GI nursing experience in an acute care or procedural setting.
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to care for patients throughout the procedural and recovery phases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Experience with moderate sedation and recovery care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Schedule & Call Requirements
- 13-week travel assignment
- Monday–Friday
- 4 x 10-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weekend Call: Two weekends every 8–9 week schedule (call only)
- Weeknight Call: Approximately 4–5 nights during each 8–9 week schedule
Required License & Certification
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
