Description
Position Details
- Position: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)
- Facility: Samaritan Hospital
- Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Schedule and Requirements
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
- Weekend call required.
- Night call required.
- Must participate as a member of the STEMI Emergency On-Call Team.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab, procedural, or sedation experience.
- Experience with:
- Left and Right Heart Catheterizations
- Coronary stent procedures
- Balloon valvuloplasty
- Pericardiocentesis
- Structural heart procedures
- Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Impella
- EKOS therapy
- Experience managing patients receiving moderate sedation.
Required Certifications
- Active New York RN License
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
- Administer oral and IV medications.
- Monitor patients receiving procedural sedation and respond to adverse reactions.
- Participate in STEMI emergency call response.
- Educate patients and families on post-procedure care, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Complete patient documentation, consent forms, charting, and procedure records.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary Cath Lab team to ensure safe patient care.
