Description

Position Details

  • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
  • Facility: Mission Hospital – Emergency Department
  • Shift: Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

Schedule and Requirements

  • Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Block scheduling is not available.
  • Must float within all areas of the Emergency Department (no floating outside the ED).
  • Schedule is based on department needs.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
  • At least 1 year of Emergency Department experience.
  • 2 years of Level II Trauma Center experience required.
  • Experience in a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ annual visits).
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility, and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback.
  • Previous HCA experience preferred.

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • CPI
  • NIHSS
  • ENPC (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency nursing care for medical, trauma, stroke, and behavioral health patients.
  • Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and emergency interventions.
  • Care for patients across all sections of the Emergency Department.
  • Utilize Cerner for electronic documentation.
  • Maintain patient-centered care using AIDET communication standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and update patient communication boards throughout the patient's stay.
