🔥 PREMIER LABOR & DELIVERY CONTRACT – NO CALL OBLIGATIONS – FIRST TIMERS WELCOME

 

First Connect Health is seeking a qualified Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate 13-week travel assignment in Grinnell, Iowa. This facility offers an incredibly close-knit environment with a highly manageable, low-burnout delivery pacing. If you are an L&D nurse looking for a night shift assignment with zero on-call requirements, or a dedicated clinician ready to jump into your very first travel contract, this is the perfect opportunity!

💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $2,434.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,246.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $33.00/hr
  • Overtime Rate: $49.50/hr (Billable after 40 hours)
  • Based on 36 Regular Hours weekly (3x12 Shifts)

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (36 hours guaranteed weekly). Holiday rotation required.
  • On-Call Requirements: None! Absolute freedom from on-call shifts.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend rotation.
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Unit Pacing & Environment: Favorable low-acuity unit handling approximately 19–31 deliveries per month (average of 300 annually).
  • Unit Layout & Ratios: 3 LDRP beds, 4 Postpartum beds. Ratios are a supportive 1:1 for active labor and 1:3-4 for couplets. Covers labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn nursery care workflows.
  • Floating Flexibility: May occasionally float to Med Surg or ICU units to assist infrequently with basic tasks like med passes or technician-level patient care.

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 24 months of current clinical experience in Labor & Delivery. Nursery, Mother-Baby, and Postpartum experience is highly preferred. First-time travel nurses are fully welcome!
  • Licensure: Active Iowa State or Compact/Multistate Nursing License required at time of submission.
  • Certifications Required: Active AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP certificate, and an Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM/AWHONN) certificate must be in hand.

⚡ Screening Notice: Viable applicants will be contacted directly via phone call or text from a 405 area code for an immediate, rapid clinical screening interview. 🛌 No On-Call Requirements: This position is completely free of regular on-call obligations, allowing you to maximize your rest and schedule predictability between your 3x12 night shifts. 📉 Well-Paced Maternal-Child Environment: This unit operates at a highly manageable pacing with an average of 19–31 deliveries per month, featuring an active labor ratio of 1:1 and a couplet care ratio of 1:3-4. 📍 Local Radius Bill Rate Rules: Local candidates living within a 50-mile radius of the Grinnell facility are accepted, but are subject to a standard 10% reduction in the contract bill rate. 🔄 Cross-Discipline Support Floating: Travel nurses must be willing to assist sister units. Infrequently, you may be asked to float to the facility's 23-bed Med Surg unit or ICU to help core staff exclusively with basic med passes or tech-level tasks. 📋 Submission Checklist: To pass initial credentialing, your profile must include an active Iowa/compact license, a resume detailing 24 months of relevant experience, a specialty skills checklist, and active copies of ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Intermediate EFM certifications.
