Description

Unit RT 
# treatments per day    Tx load @ Berkeley fluctuates could have several floors with treatments or the ICU with several vents and NIV's. Assignments vary greatly; however, we work together to get the patients taken care of. 
Certs - RRT and CRT    "BLS, ACLS, PALS. NRP, RRT required but will accept CRT as long as they held their license prior to July 1st 2022, NRP added 12/15/2025 per Leslie Lee
Experience/Must haves: must be able to intubate independently for adults. Will need to have prior level 2-3 NICU experience with to include ventilators. Peds floor care and Adults experience. Willing to consider someone with old nicu experience, and no pediatric experience.

Lead RT     Lead Therapist for each shift Berkeley RT Manager M-F - handle daily operations & approve the schedule. 
Weekend Requirement Every other weekend : nights Fri/Sat/Sun days Sat/Sun
Holidays    Every other holiday
No Call  
Scrub Color Gray
Vents (What brand?)     Servo U, Hamilton G5, Transport Vent Hamilton T1, Bipap non-invasive ventilation phillips respironics V60, High flow heated combo of AirVo & MaxTech system.
Are RTs Required Intubate Independently?  Must be able to intubate independently for adults
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Yes
Pharmacy 24/7     
Shifts      "Fill out spreadsheet, managers balance it out & approve. Try to get out 4 weeks in advance.
Berkeley 5-6 on days + PFT person & 4 -4 RT on nights for baseline"
Floating    Previous NICU exp is preferred (Berkeley is Level III NICU) 
Floor specific orientation    "try to give 3 -12 hour shifts
Berkeley each person has their own assignment: ER, ICU, 2nd floor, per day "
Types of patients (adults, peds, and neonates?)       peds, adults, neonates.
Duties (ie: Do RTs draw ABGs?)      "Duties: assess patients/clients, plan appropriate treatments based upon the physicians' orders & evalutations, establish goals, methods of treatments, & the patient's potential. Set-up equipment, administer treatments as ordered: O2, humidity therapy, airway mgmt, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage procedures, chest physiotherapy, Bipap, Cpap, nebulizers, inhalers, & ABG's.
Berkeley RT they do EKGs in off hours from 5pm - including 7am the following morning & all weekend long but not in the ER. "

Charting System:EPIC

Shift Notes:12 hour nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled
Required Certifications:ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Verification
