Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (CVOR) for a 13-week travel assignment in Lafayette, Colorado. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience, demonstrate excellence in maintaining a sterile environment, and provide skilled support to surgeons and the surgical team during complex procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and surgical supplies before procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout all surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons during operative procedures within the Surgical Technologist scope of practice.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment meet sterilization standards.
• Follow sharps safety, fire safety, and infection prevention protocols.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations in the operating room.
• Assist with sterile processing duties as needed.
• Support room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, registered nurses, and the surgical team to ensure safe patient care.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR scrubbing experience (Required).
• Minimum 1 year of cardiovascular surgical experience as a Surgical Technologist (Required).
• Hospital clinical experience preferred.

Education

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, OR
• Graduation from a non-accredited Surgical Technologist program within the past six months, OR
• Two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years.

Certifications

• Colorado DORA License – Required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required
• BLS (AHA) Certification – Required
• National Certification as an ORT in Surgery (preferred)
