Description
Position: Temporary Registered Nurse
Start Date: immediately (upon DOL’s approval)
Location: Montgomery AL
Contract length: 30 days
Hours per Week: 40 (Weekend on call coverage is needed)
Scope of Work
· Participate in the medical examination of students.
· Specimen (blood and urine) collection as needed (phlebotomy).
· Screen patients and refer them to Center Physician, Health and Wellness Manager and/or the Center Mental Health.
· Observe, records and reports patients’ vital signs, symptoms and behavior.
· Perform first aid treatment as needed.
· Assist the physician with the patient examination; prepare patients for tests and the examination.
· Provide guidance for students in matters of personal hygiene.
· Prepare and administer prescribed medications as directed.
· Maintain medical equipment and inventory of supplies and medications.
· Maintain accurate medical records.
· Promote projects that support health and safety throughout the Center.
· Review and assist with student files as directed by the Center Director.
