PREMIUM SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST (CST) CONTRACT – 5x8 VARIED DAYS – SEVEN-SUITE OPERATING ROOM

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for an immediate 13-week travel assignment. Operating within a busy 7-suite acute care surgical department in San Luis Obispo, CA, this position is tailored for elite allied health professionals fully capable of scrubbing a diverse mix of high-volume cases completely independently. Please note: This facility features a high volume of orthopedic cases, including total joint replacements. While the department also performs advanced cardiac surgeries (open heart, TAVR, carotids), traveling clinicians will not be assigned to cardiac tracks, allowing you to focus completely on your core competencies.

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Day shifts, 5x8-Hours with variable start times. The unit manager handles scheduling layout. No block scheduling.
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours guaranteed weekly. The hospital maintains the policy right to cancel a maximum of 4 shifts per 13-week assignment based on operational needs.
• On-Call Requirements: Standard departmental call tracking is strictly required [REQUIRED]. Rotation consists of 1 call night per week and 1 full weekend of call per month.
• Call Response Time: A strict 30-minute maximum call response and arrival time is enforced. You must remain within the compliance geographic radius while on standby.
• EMR System: Cerner Surginet charting platform.
• Clinical Environment: Active 7-suite operating room processing 15 to 20 surgical cases per day with full interdisciplinary support.
• Surgical Scope & Case Mix: High-volume Orthopedics (including Total Joints), General Surgery, GYN, and Pediatrics. The department also handles eyes/ophthalmic cases, but prior experience in eyes is not required.
• Floating & Uniforms: No floating required. Hospital scrubs are provided directly on-site by the department.

📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive clinical experience strictly as an acute care Operating Room Tech [REQUIRED]. Previous travel experience is highly preferred but not an absolute hardstop.
• Certifications Required: Verifiable NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential is strictly required upon submission [HARDSTOP]. Active AHA BLS is strictly required [HARDSTOP].
• Holiday Commitment: Travel clinicians will only be required to work scheduled holidays under true emergency operational circumstances.
• Licensure Required: Active, verified registration or compliance markers matching California state regulations must be clear prior to assignment start.
