PREMIUM ADULT ECHO / ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST CONTRACT – 5x8 DAYS – NO CALL
We are seeking a highly proficient Adult Echo Technologist for an immediate 13-week travel assignment within Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka, AK. Operating in a stunning coastal Alaskan environment, this position is tailored for elite imaging professionals fully capable of performing high-quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations completely independently. Please note: This facility enforces an absolute compliance baseline regarding pre-boarding background checks. The official start date will be scheduled no less than 6 weeks after your physical fingerprint cards are received at the central office in Juneau for processing [HARDSTOP]. Upon offer acceptance, candidates must submit their prints within 2–3 days to prevent start-date delays.
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Day shifts, 5x8-Hours (08:00 AM - 16:30 PM), Monday through Friday. No regular weekend shifts. No block scheduling.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours guaranteed weekly.
- On-Call Requirements: Absolutely NO On-Call required, allowing you to fully experience the unique landscape and community of Southeast Alaska during your time off.
- Holiday Commitment: Holiday coverage rotation is required based on ongoing hospital department needs.
- EMR System: Meditech charting and archiving platform.
- Clinical Environment: Community-focused, culturally rich acute care facility maintaining a 0–49 bed operational capacity.
- Clinical Scope & Patient Flow: Seamless execution of adult echocardiography protocols across diverse adult and geriatric populations. Core duties include independent performance of diagnostic echo lines, managing precise patient records, moving patients safely to and from the imaging suite, performing departmental Quality Assurance (QA) track assessments, and assisting with general departmental hygiene protocols.
📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive clinical experience strictly as an Adult Echo/Ultrasound Technologist [REQUIRED]. Cross-trained, multimodality imaging professionals are highly preferred by facility leadership.
- Profile & Permanent Residence Criteria: SEARHC only accepts candidates whose permanent address sits at least 50+ miles away from the facility [HARDSTOP]. Please note that this is an all-inclusive rate package; the health system does not provide corporate housing or flight coordinates directly.
- Certifications Required: Must hold a valid Echocardiography specialty (RDCS-AE) credential [HARDSTOP]. Active AHA BLS is strictly required upon profile submission [HARDSTOP]. High school diploma or GED paired with formal completion of an accredited Echocardiography training program is required.
- State Licensure: There is no state-specific imaging license required upfront for the state of Alaska, paving the way for streamlined profile clearance.
- Vaccine Mandate: COVID-19 vaccination is not required; Flu vaccination is strictly required [REQUIRED] (Medical/Religious exemptions only).
