Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for an Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. The ideal candidate will have recent Med-Surg and Inpatient Rehabilitation experience and be committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from surgery, stroke, neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, trauma, and other debilitating conditions. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote patient recovery, maximize independence, and ensure safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and progress toward rehabilitation goals.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments as ordered.
- Care for patients with medical-surgical conditions requiring ongoing rehabilitation and recovery.
- Monitor vital signs, neurological status, wound healing, pain management, and mobility.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, rehabilitation goals, and discharge instructions.
- Identify changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Float to appropriate units based on competency and facility needs, if required.
