Travel Pharmacy Technician – Hospital 
 

📍 Location: Peridot, Arizona
📅Contract Duration: 26 Weeks (07/27/2026 – 01/23/2027)
💰Pay Rate: Up to $41/hour
🕒Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (8 or 10-Hour Shifts)
Shift Options:

  • 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM (Primary)
  • 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Must be available for Evenings & Weekends 

Job Description:
 

San Carlos Apache Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician to join its inpatient pharmacy team. The selected candidate will assist licensed pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications while ensuring safe and efficient pharmaceutical services for hospitalized patients. This is an excellent opportunity for Pharmacy Technicians with recent acute care hospital experience looking to work in a collaborative healthcare environment serving the Native American community.

The Pharmacy Technician will support daily pharmacy operations, medication distribution, automated dispensing systems, inventory management, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications for inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Accurately fill medication orders and prepare unit-dose medications.
  • Operate and maintain Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADC).
  • Restock medications and ensure automated dispensing cabinets remain properly supplied.
  • Process physician medication orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare IV medications and sterile products (if permitted by facility policy and certification).
  • Receive, verify, and stock pharmaceutical inventory.
  • Monitor medication expiration dates and rotate inventory accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
  • Assist pharmacists with controlled substance accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with Arizona Board of Pharmacy regulations, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies.
  • Respond promptly to nursing unit medication requests.
  • Maintain medication security and patient confidentiality.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and medication safety programs.
  • Perform additional pharmacy duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:
 

Required:

  • Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician License
  • Recent Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience (Acute Care preferred)
  • Experience using Omnicell Automated Dispensing Systems
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication handling
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent attention to detail 

Preferred:

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
  • Experience with hospital pharmacy software and EMR systems
  • IV preparation experience
  • Sterile compounding experience 

Work Environment:

  • Acute Care Hospital
  • Fast-paced inpatient pharmacy
  • Evening and weekend coverage required
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team

  • Shift Length: 8–10 Hours
  • Weekend Rotation: Required
