🔥 PREMIUM DAY-SHIFT MED SURG RN CONTRACT – LEVEL I TRAUMA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel opening for a highly precise and adaptive Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) Registered Nurse (RN) in Phoenix, Arizona. Operating within a 22-bed private-room acute care floor, this position is centered on building a unified, committed clinical team. Please note: First-time travel nurses cannot be accepted for this role. Eligible candidates must meet all strict Level I Trauma, telemetry, and clinical screening guidelines.
💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE
- Weekly Gross: $2,070.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,350.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr
- Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12-Hours. Schedules are constructed via 4-week blocks.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Ratios track firmly at 1:4 to 1:5. Rather than utilizing PCTs, the floor features a dedicated Resource RN in addition to the Charge RN to support your workflow.
- Weekend & Holiday Expectations: 4 total weekend shifts per 4-week block (scheduled as 3 weekend days per pay period; Saturdays/Sundays). Holidays are integrated into the permanent staff rotation based on unit coverage.
- EMR Charting System: Cerner.
- Clinical Scope & Case Mix: High-acuity general medicine tracking. Common patient types encompass complex post-op recovery, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes complications, and acute infections.
- Infusions & Pacing: Independent management of Heparin titrations only; no set-rate or titratable cardiac gtts are accepted on this unit. Telemetry is not natively housed on this specified department, but telemetry skills are highly valued due to floating requirements.
- Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float to other Med Surg or Telemetry units across the campus.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent clinical acute care experience as an RN. Recent Med Surg experience inside a Level I Trauma Center is an absolute clinical requirement. Telemetry or charge nurse experience is highly preferred.
- Clinical Testing Mandate: Candidates must pass a strict dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting a contract (2 attempts permitted total).
- Licensure: Active Arizona State Nursing License or a valid Multi-State Compact RN License must be verified and active.
- Certifications Required: Active AHA BLS certification must be in hand at the time of submission.
- Grooming Requirements: Candidates must have natural hair colors, no facial piercings, and men must be clean-shaved for standard N95 fit testing. Travel teams must possess independent personal vehicles.
