X-Ray Technologist (Radiology Technician)
Location: Akron, Ohio
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (08/02/2026 – 10/31/2026)
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week (5×8-Hour Shifts)
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: Long-Term Contract

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist to join a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic procedures while ensuring patient safety, maintaining image quality, and collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare, position, and safely assist patients for radiographic procedures.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images while following radiation safety standards.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain radiographic imaging equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation within the hospital's electronic systems.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with select CT procedures when required and within scope of training.
- Respond appropriately during emergency situations, including initiating CPR when necessary.
- Ensure patient dignity, comfort, and confidentiality throughout all procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or registry eligible.
- Active Ohio Radiographer License.
- Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience.
- Previous experience in a Level I Trauma Center is required.
- Current BLS Certification (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Cross-training or experience with select CT procedures.
- Experience with hospital PACS/RIS and electronic medical record systems.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- ARRT Certification
- Active Ohio Radiographer License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients safely.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to operate radiographic equipment and patient positioning devices.
Additional Information
- Interview Required (availability should be provided at the time of submission).
- Maximum 7 days of Requested Time Off (RTO) permitted during the assignment. Candidates with more than 7 days of RTO will not be considered.
- This is a high-volume Level I Trauma environment requiring excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork.
