Description
We are seeking an experienced Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This opportunity is ideal for ICU nurses who excel in caring for critically ill adult patients in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the Medical ICU.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies safely and accurately.
- Manage ventilated patients and provide advanced respiratory care.
- Care for patients with central lines, arterial lines, PICC lines, and implanted ports.
- Titrate vasoactive medications, sedation, insulin drips, and cardiac drips per protocol.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, perform 12-lead ECGs, and respond to medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Document all patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Float to other critical care units as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Epic EMR experience required.
