HOT JOB: EMERGENCY ROOM RN – 3x12 NIGHTS (RED BLUFF, CA)

Sia Hayes at First Connect Health is fast-tracking applications for an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse. This is a 13-week contract, a Level 3 Trauma Center managing a high-volume, dynamic caseload. Immediate priority submission is available!

POSITION QUICK-FACTS

• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) | Scheduled every other weekend (EOW)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours weekly
• Holiday Obligation: Intergrated into the permanent staff holiday rotation
• Systems & Charting: Cerner (FirstNet) EMR | Phillips Telemetry
• Unit Structure: 15-bed ER with an additional 6-bed Fast Track unit (open 09:00 AM - 10:00 PM). Schedules are built out 30 to 45 days in advance.

THE CLINICAL MATRIX

• The Environment: High-volume Level 3 Trauma Center averaging roughly 100 patient visits per day, including a robust pediatric footprint of 500 to 600 pediatric patients per month. Expect a frequent volume of acute strokes, abdominal emergencies, orthopedic injuries, respiratory failure (ventilator management required), and psychiatric crises.
• Staffing Ratios: Typically 1:4, scaling dynamically based on patient acuity.
• Support Ecology: 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, 24/7 Pharmacy, and a 24/7 Unit Secretary. Dedicated ER Tech coverage is available 20 hours a day. Central monitor techs based in the ICU oversee the ER telemetry strips. An emergency physician is in-house 24/7, supplemented by mid-level providers from 09:00 AM - 02:00 AM.
• Floating & Orientation: Designated as "First to Float" if facility wide emergencies occur, though standard local floating is not required. Floor-specific orientation spans 2 to 3 days on the unit.
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs (traveler provided).

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)

• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of dedicated acute care Emergency Room experience. The facility highly prefers candidates with proven Level 3 Trauma or higher background.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted California (CA) state RN license must be in-hand at the time of submission. License to submit is required.
• Certifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are strictly required at submittal.
• Health & Background Compliance: Must have verifiable proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination series (facility mandate).
