Position Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) to serve as a clinical resource for patients and staff related to ostomy care, continence disorders, acute/chronic wounds, skin breakdown, and fistulae. This nurse provides direct wound and ostomy care in inpatient and outpatient settings, supports patient/family education, and partners with the care team to evaluate products/equipment and reduce hospital-acquired pressure injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized wound and ostomy assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing management
• Deliver pre- and post-operative patient/family education on wound and ostomy care
• Assess patients with pressure injuries (stage 3 and above) and support appropriate documentation/reporting requirements
• Evaluate hospital-acquired pressure injuries and collaborate on prevention initiatives
• Support the care team with product/equipment evaluation related to skin integrity and wound care
• Provide staff education through in-services and bedside teaching
• Stay current on evidence-based wound/skin care practices and share updates with clinical teams

Required Qualifications

Education

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Licensure/Certifications

• Active California RN license (in good standing)
• CWON certification (required)

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of clinical experience

Skills/Competencies

• Strong initiative and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Comfort with technology/equipment used in wound and ostomy care
• Professional accountability and customer-service mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of wound and ostomy care experience
