HOT JOB: CARDIAC CATH LAB TECHNOLOGIST – 4x10 DAYS & CALL (DES MOINES, IA)

 

Sia Hayes at First Connect Health is fast-tracking applications for an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist. This is a 13-week contract across a premier healthcare network in Des Moines, Iowa. Fast-track phone or text interviews are actively being conducted from a 405 area code for an immediate selection pipeline!

 

POSITION QUICK-FACTS

  • Start Date: 08/03/2026, or 08/10/2026 (13 Weeks) – Sooner starts will be prioritized.
  • Shift Schedule: 07:00 AM - 17:00 PM | 4x10-Hour Day Shifts (Monday through Friday with a random day off during the week. Blocked scheduling cannot be promised).
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours weekly
  • On-Call Mandate: Intensive call rotation is strictly required:
    • Weeknights: 1 night per week.
    • Weekends: Every 3rd weekend (From 19:30 PM Friday through 07:00 AM Monday). Includes call-back for assigned cases on rare occasions.
  • Holiday Obligation: Required to work 1 to 2 of the major summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.

THE CLINICAL MATRIX

  • Core Competencies: Must be fully independent and competent in circulating and monitoring procedures. Scrubbing experience and proficiency are highly preferred.
  • Clinical Case Mix: Covers a comprehensive range of cardiac interventions. Prior experience in Structural Heart procedures is highly preferred. Peripheral vascular, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Electrophysiology (EP) experience are also strongly preferred.
  • Systems & Charting: Epic EMR.
  • Float Requirement: Must be fully willing to float across all regional Des Moines area campuses to like units as needed. (Campuses are located within minutes of one another).

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)

  • Experience: Minimum 24 months (2 years) of current, dedicated experience in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Travel History: Must have documented travel contract experience within the previous 18 months.
  • Registries: Must hold an active certification via the ARRT or CCI / RCIS at the time of submission [HARDSTOP].
  • Geographic Policy: Open to both local and travel candidates. A strict 50-mile radius rule applies (Local candidates residing within 50 miles will receive a 10% reduction to the bill rate).
  • Employment Separation Restriction [CRITICAL]: Any past staff employee (FTE) or PRN float pool employee of this healthcare system cannot work as a contractor here if they have worked for the network within the past 12 months. (Note: This restriction does not apply if your past employment with the network was solely through an outside travel agency).

  2. Skills Checklist specific to the Cardiac Cath Lab discipline (completed within 1 year).
  3. Copy of active ARRT or RCIS certification certificate.
  4. Legible copy of your Driver’s License.
  5. Preferred: One professional supervisory reference or performance evaluation from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Manager, or Director from within the last 24 months.
