Position: Special Education (SPED) Teacher
Location: Colleton Middle School, South Carolina
Setting: Middle School (Grades 7 & 8)
Contract Duration: July 21, 2026 – May 24, 2027 (Approx. 44 weeks)

Schedule

• Shift: Days
• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours

Job Responsibilities

• Provide special education instruction to approximately 25 middle school students.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

Requirements

• Active South Carolina Multi-Category Special Education License/Certification (Required)
• Experience working with middle school students is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 25 students.
