Description
Dietician approves menus including modified diets, provides nutritional assessments for patients as needed, and provides counsel to patients and their families on dietary plans, food selections, preparation, and nutritional principles. The Dietician monitors the performance improvement plans of the Dietary Services department and provides input in the development and implementation of patient care plans in relation to nutritional needs.
Consult with patients and family members concerning dietary needs and goals. May instruct patients and/or families regarding diet therapy programs.
Coordinate Dietary Services Department with JCAHO standards for food service and assist Dietary Manager as needed
Plan modified diets for patients as requested by attending physician/licensed practitioner. Communicate to Dietary team in a timely manner.
Perform nutritional assessments in a timely manner. Monitor and document patient care in regard to therapeutic diets.
Review patients' charts to determine need for nutritional assessments. Document patient charts with nutritional planning, and update as changes in nutritional needs occur.
What we're looking for
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years dietary experience in a health care facility, with concentration in nutritional in nutritional assessment and planning.
Current Registration with the American Dietetic Association (RD or RDN) or similar organization and licensure per state of practice required
