Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology (IR)
Shift
- 40 Hours/Week
- 4x10-Hour Days: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Monday–Friday (day off varies)
- Holidays required
- Weekends as needed
On-Call Requirements
- Rotating weekday call: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Rotating weekend call: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care for pediatric, adult, geriatric, acute, and chronic care patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures. The RN will assist with special procedures, administer moderate (conscious) sedation, monitor patients throughout procedures, and respond effectively to emergencies while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Minimum Requirements
- Travel experience required
- 3–5 years of recent RN experience
- Critical Care experience required
- Experience in Interventional Radiology or procedural nursing preferred
- Comfortable caring for critically ill patients and responding to emergency situations
Required Certifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License
- AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after radiology procedures
- Administer and monitor moderate (conscious) sedation
- Monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and overall condition throughout procedures
- Recognize and manage contrast media reactions and other procedural complications
- Assist radiologists during interventional and special procedures
- Administer medications and IV therapy as appropriate
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, oxygen delivery systems, and ventilators
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures and post-procedure care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Proficiency in IV therapy, aseptic technique, and patient monitoring
- Knowledge of conscious sedation protocols and emergency response
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Computer proficiency and electronic documentation experience
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety
