Description

Emergency Department RN – Nights/Days | Meditech Experience Required

Position Highlights

  • 75-mile radius rule
  • Driver's license address must be included with submission
  • Minimum 5 years of ED experience
  • Minimum 1 prior travel assignment
  • Meditech 6.15 experience REQUIRED
  • TNCC is mandatory

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • ASLS or NIHSS
  • CPI

Emergency Department Overview

  • Approximately 180–200 patient visits per day
  • 6-bed behavioral health lockdown area staffed by Psychiatry
  • 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Serves patients from pediatrics through geriatrics
  • Certified Stroke Center
  • Receives trauma patients (transfers higher-acuity neuro and burn cases as needed)

Support Services

  • Charge RN every shift
  • 5–6 Nurse Aides/Paramedics per shift
  • Security and safety sitters available
  • Central telemetry monitoring
  • Dedicated Respiratory Therapist 24/7
  • Pharmacy in department 11 hours/day; on campus 24/7
  • Nurses perform their own IV starts and lab draws
  • IV Team available

Equipment & EMR

  • EMR: Meditech 6.15
  • Ventilator patients held in ED until admitted

Scheduling

  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday
  • Automatic lunch deduction

Orientation

  • 2 department orientation shifts
  • Required orientation (ORT) must be completed during the first week unless leadership approves otherwise before the start date.

Dress Code

  • Caribbean Blue scrubs only

Ideal Candidate

Experienced ED travel nurse with strong trauma, stroke, pediatric, behavioral health, and critical care experience who is comfortable working in a high-volume emergency department and is proficient with Meditech documentation.
