HOT JOB: SURGERY TRAUMA MS STEPDOWN RN – 3x12 NIGHTS (ATLANTA, GA)
I am fast-tracking applications for a highly resilient Registered Nurse to join the renowned Level I Trauma center at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. This 13-week contract is on a high-acuity surgery trauma unit, offering an immediate review pipeline for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, complex environments.
POSITION QUICK-FACTS
- Start Date: 08/03/2026 – 10/31/2026 (13 Weeks)
- Shift Schedule: 19:00 PM - 07:00 AM | 12-Hour Night Shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours weekly
- Scheduling Restrictions: No block scheduling permitted. Must be flexible to work assigned weekend rotations.
- Time-Off Policy [STRICT]: No Requested Time Off (RTO) allowed. Candidates must have full availability for the duration of the 13-week contract.
- Systems & Charting: Epic EMR [REQUIRED]
- Geographic Policy: Both local and travel candidates are accepted (1-mile local radius rule applies).
THE CLINICAL MATRIX & PATIENT POPULATION
- The Floor (6A - Surgery Trauma): A high-acuity, fast-moving surgical trauma unit managing complex post-operative and acute emergency admissions.
- Patient Ratios: Consistent 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio on the night shift.
- High-Acuity Patient Population: You will manage high-intensity surgical and trauma cases, including:
- Penetrating trauma wounds (e.g., gunshots, stabs)
- Acute spinal cord injuries (quadriplegic and paraplegic patient care)
- Complex multi-system post-op surgical interventions
- Unit Support Infrastructure: The night shift is fully supported by Nursing Support Technicians (PCTs), dedicated phlebotomists for blood draws, and a night-shift Unit Secretary. Emergency Department (ED) and admitting units complete a comprehensive, standardized nurse-to-nurse handoff protocol for every admission.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)
- Experience Baseline: Minimum 2 years of current, dedicated experience within a high-acuity Surgical Trauma, Med-Surg Trauma, or Stepdown environment. Experience in a Teaching Hospital or Level I Trauma center is highly preferred.
- Systems Competency [HARDSTOP]: Prior independent charting experience in Epic EMR is strictly required.
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Georgia (GA) state RN license or valid multi-state Compact license must be active and in-hand at submission.
- Certifications:
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification is required.
- AHA ACLS certification is highly preferred.
