Description
Travel Med Surg RN
Unit: Medical Surgical | Ratio: 1:5–6
Must Have:
- Minimum 1.5 years Level I, Level II, or tertiary hospital experience
- Minimum 1 year Med Surg experience in a 450+ bed hospital
- Active Indiana or Compact RN License
- BLS (AHA)
Patient Population:
COPD, CHF, Diabetes, ESRD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, GI disorders, Stroke, Dementia, Mental Health, Post-op Medical/Surgical
Skills Required:
- General Med Surg nursing
- Heparin & insulin drips
- Wound vacs, chest tubes, feeding tubes/pumps
- IV therapy, telemetry, care planning
- EMR: Epic
Unit Details:
- 3x12-hour shifts
- Every 3 weekends in 4 weeks
- Float to other Med Surg units only
- Caribbean Blue scrubs
Facility Requirements:
- 50-mile local rule (12% reduced rate for locals)
- Up to 24 hours cancellation per 13-week contract
- 8-hour non-billable orientation
- 1 day hospital orientation + ~5 days nursing/EPIC orientation
