Sonographer – Echocardiology

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Echocardiology/Cardiac Sonographer to perform advanced cardiac imaging studies including contrast, bubble studies, post-TAVR and Mitra Clip assessments, some 3D imaging, and stress tests. This is a day shift position with no weekends or holidays required.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, day shifts
• 8-hour shifts with variable start times between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM
• Approximately 36 hours per week
• No call, standby, weekend, or holiday requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced echocardiology imaging including contrast, bubble studies, strain imaging, and advanced pathology assessments
• Conduct post-TAVR and Mitra Clip imaging
• Perform stress tests
• Start IVs if trained (training available for motivated candidates)
• Use EPIC EMR system
• Collaborate with occasional educator who may assist with patient assignments and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois license or proof that application process has been initiated
• BLS Certification
• Specialty Certification: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS
• Strong knowledge of heart anatomy and pathology
• Experience with complicated cardiac pathology and advanced echocardiology assessments
• Excellent scanning skills and techniques
• Prior experience with contrast, bubble studies, strain imaging, and advanced pathology required
• 3D imaging experience preferred but not mandatory
• Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus policy)

Additional Information

• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted
• Orientation includes 12 non-billable hours with a preceptor; typically only a few days needed to become independent
• Dress code: solid color scrubs preferred; scrubs not provided
• No floating or coverage of other departments required
