Assignment Type: Long-Term Travel Assignment

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for extension)

Shift: Days – 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)

Job Overview

Community Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring safe recovery through continuous monitoring, assessment, and intervention.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) following surgical and procedural anesthesia.
• Monitor patients' airway, breathing, circulation, neurological status, pain levels, and vital signs during recovery.
• Recognize and respond promptly to post-operative complications and changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and pain management therapies as prescribed.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform accurate patient assessments, documentation, and discharge education according to facility standards.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety protocols, and infection prevention guidelines.
• Provide compassionate patient and family education regarding post-operative recovery and discharge instructions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California RN License required).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience preferred.
• Strong experience caring for post-operative patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital.
• Ability to assess and manage patients recovering from various surgical procedures.
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• NIH-Stroke Certification
