- Unit: Telemetry Nampa Hospital Flr 1
- # of Beds: 24
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:04
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Heart Failure, COPD, Sepsis, AFIB, PNA, Stroke, detox, suicidal holds
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 1 year experience, okay with first time travelers. Must be a good team player.
- Are RN's required to titrate drips: No
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Set drop rate medication- Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lidocaine.
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: Charge nurse does not take patients and there is a Admin Sup on site 24/7.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: CNAs- 1:8 ratio. Will have 3 CNAs if unit is full.
- RT Equipment: Cpap, Bipap (if on for more that 4 hours pt will transfer to the ICU), High Flow.
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: We have Tele Techs. RNs are required to sign off their strips. SpaceLabs.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours, 7-7. Shifts are schedule by the unit scheduler. Shifts can be blocked or grouped together.
- Weekend Requirements: As needed- try to do every other but may need travelers to fill in the holes.
- Holiday Requirements: If there is a need.
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No.
- Floating Requirements: Will float to MedSurg here. May also float to Meridian or Boise to Tele.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color as long as clean and professional.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 1-2 days.
- Additional Notes: Nampa Tele staff using a team nursing model. If full they would have a charge with 7 RNs on the floor, 2 of those RNs would be leads who would have 1-2 patients so they can help other RNs on the floor if they are busy—doing med passes, helping with cares, etc. Travelers can work as lead if they are experienced.
