• Position Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Emergency Department
• Location: Rochester, New York
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Schedule: 4x12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights)
• Schedule Requirements: Availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge nurse duties as determined by unit operational needs

Unit Overview:

This facility serves as a Level I pediatric trauma and burn center, delivering tertiary care to patients under 19 years of age. The Pediatric Emergency Department provides family-centered care for urgent and emergent conditions, managing a diverse and complex case mix ranging from minor illness/injury to acute critical care and major trauma.

Unit Composition:

• 18 general care beds
• 1 critical care bed
• 4 urgent care beds
• Shared access to a 7-bed trauma bay in collaboration with the Adult Emergency Department

The practice environment is fast-paced, clinically challenging, and requires adaptability, clinical autonomy, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure: Active, unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent, direct clinical experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department setting

Certifications (AHA):

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Additional Certification

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
