Description

Travel Neuro Med Surg RN – 6 West

Unit: 6 West – Neuro/Medical Surgical
Contract: Travel RN

Join a specialized neuroscience unit caring for patients with acute neurological conditions and post-operative spine cases.

Requirements

Active RN License
BLS required
NIHSS required at time of submission
ACLS preferred
Recent EPIC experience required
Strong Neuro nursing experience required
Experience with G-tube management required
Any background history must be disclosed at the time of submission

Unit Details

20-bed Neuro Unit (14 floor beds)
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6
Charge Nurse available 24/7
Three Nurse Aides per shift (1:7–10)

Patient Population

Stroke
Seizures
Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) patients
Neurological disorders
Surgical and post-operative spine patients

Clinical Skills

Comprehensive neurological assessments
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
G-tube care
Telemetry patient care
EPIC documentation

Common drips include:

Amiodarone
Cardizem
Nitro
Dopamine
Nipride
Ketamine
Lasix
Bumex
Insulin

Titration is performed only under physician orders and unit protocols.

Schedule

Travelers must be flexible with scheduling
Up to three consecutive shifts may be accommodated based on staffing needs
Holiday rotation required
Weekend rotation required
