Job Title:

Travel Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) RN – 13 Week Contract | Nights | West Virginia

Job Description:

Join a high-acuity Intermediate Care Unit caring for cardiac and medical patients requiring close monitoring. This travel assignment is ideal for experienced Stepdown/IMU RNs comfortable with telemetry interpretation and titratable drips.

Assignment Details

13-week travel contract
12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
Self-scheduling available based on unit needs
30-bed Intermediate Care Unit

Patient Population

Chest pain and rule-out MI
CHF and arrhythmias
Pre/post cardiac catheterization
Post pacemaker patients
Tikosyn therapy
Intermediate care medical patients
Occasional chest tubes

Requirements

Active RN license
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
Intermediate Care/Stepdown experience
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Experience titrating:
- Amiodarone
- Cardizem
- Dopamine
- Dobutamine
- Labetalol
- Nitroglycerin
- Heparin
- Lasix (occasionally)

Unit Highlights

Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
Sunrise EMR
Telemetry monitored with Nihon Kohden
RT, Pharmacy, Hospitalist, Intensivist, and IV Team available 24/7
RT manages AirVo and BiPAP
Floating to Telemetry or Med Surg as needed
