Description
General Description: -Under general supervision, performs professional Occupational Therapy activities consisting of planning, evaluating, establishing and implementing individual and group treatment activities under the direction of a physician. Essential Responsibilities: -Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. -Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. -Interpret a physician s referral and select an appropriate standardized evaluation procedure. -Evaluate patient in the following areas: independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills and various psychosocial skills. -Interpret the data and develop a treatment plan involving short and long term goals, frequency and duration of treatment. -Assist patient in carrying out these procedures through the design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, joint protection and body mechanics. -Inform patient and family goals and progress. -Assist with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patient on home therapy plan. -May supervise students. General Responsibilities: -Performs other duties as assigned.
