Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown Cardiac / ED Surge
Location: New Hampshire
Start Date: 08/10/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Job Description
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong PCU/Stepdown background to provide care for cardiac and inpatient holds within an Emergency Department setting. This position requires managing a diverse patient population with cardiac, medical, and surgical diagnoses while utilizing advanced cardiac monitoring and medication management skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for cardiac intermediate care and inpatient hold patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
- Respond to rapid response and emergency situations as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
Schedule & Coverage
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- 3 shifts per week
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
- One pre-approved time-off request permitted
- No block scheduling
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Strong PCU/Stepdown experience within the last year required
- ED experience preferred but not required
- First-time travelers accepted with Epic experience and minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience with a 1:4 patient ratio preferred

Floating Expectations
- Team Nursing/Helping Hands model
- May float to similar units based on patient care needs
- May assist with patient sitting responsibilities
- Will not be assigned patients outside clinical competency
Additional Notes
- No Thanksgiving RTO accepted
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Travel experience not required for qualified candidates with Epic experience and required clinical background.
