Speech Language Pathologist - Speech Language Pathologist at Phoenix Children's Hospital (Phoenix, AZ)
The team is looking for a speech therapist with infant feeding and ICU experience to begin in June/early July. This position is responsible for providing speech-language pathology services to a pediatric population, from neonate to adolescent, including evaluation and treatment in the areas of communication and swallowing.
Duties & Responsibilities Primary Duties I. Evaluates and treats patients with communication and swallowing disorders/delays, demonstrating knowledge of normal growth and skills necessary to provide age appropriate services. Uses pediatric based behavior management strategies and matches diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to age and disability of the child. Establishes appropriate treatment plan with age-appropriate goals and target timeframes, which are discussed with family and mutually agreed upon. Maintains appropriate documentation per the Policies & Procedures Evaluates recommended needs for equipment and supplies. Assists in the monitoring of speech pathology students. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
Qualifications Education Requirements
- Masters Degree (or higher) in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited university- Required
Experience Requirements
- Pediatric experience Preferred
Additional Requirements
- AZ Department of Health Services license (must be obtained prior to start date) Required
- AZ Department of public safety fingerprint clearance card (must be obtained prior to start date) Required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Required
- ASHA certification or in clinical fellowship year (CFY). Required American Speech-Language-Heari - ASHA
