Job Title: Immunization Registered Nurse (Float) – Vaccination Program

Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Work Schedule: Sunday – Saturday | 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Approximately 40 hours/week)
Contract Duration: August 23, 2026 – November 30, 2026
Work Setting: Retail Healthcare Clinic / Community Vaccination Program
Location: Brea, California
 

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a community-based vaccination program as an Immunization Nurse Float. In this patient-facing role, you will administer a variety of vaccines, provide high-quality patient care, educate patients on immunizations, and support public health initiatives in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically skilled, and passionate about improving community health through safe and effective immunization services.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other recommended immunizations following established clinical protocols.
  • Perform patient assessments prior to vaccination and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of vaccinations and patient records.
  • Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and medication administration standards.
  • Deliver exceptional patient-centered care with professionalism and empathy.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and retail clinic staff.
  • Maintain compliance with state nursing regulations and organizational policies.
  • Adapt to changing workflows and support vaccination initiatives across assigned locations.
  • Promote a positive team environment while contributing to operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization administration.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible to work varying shifts, including weekends.
  • High School Diploma/GED (verification required).
  • Must not be listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail health, outpatient clinics, occupational health, or community vaccination programs.
  • Experience administering vaccines to patients across multiple age groups.
  • Strong customer service and patient education skills.
