Description
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse – 12-Hour Nights
- Schedule: 12-Hour Nights | 19:00 - 07:00 | 36 Hours Guaranteed (3x12s)
- Assignment Length: 13-Week Contract (Start Date: 08/03/2026)
- Scheduling Logistics: Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required. Holidays are worked in coordination with permanent staff schedules.
- Orientation Structure: 12 non-billable orientation hours. Includes 2–3 unit-specific orientation shifts.
- Floating Protocol: Travelers float first. Staff must be willing to float to Labor & Delivery (L&D) or Postpartum to care for transitioning newborns or healthy babies.
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (not provided by the facility).
- Cancellation Policy: The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]
- Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 2 to 3 years of dedicated NICU experience is required. Prior travel nurse experience is highly preferred.
- Acuity Competency [HARDSTOP]: Candidates must have proven Level 3 NICU experience managing high-acuity neonates.
- Licensure & Documentation: Active RN license for the state of practice must be fully verified on Nursys at the time of submission.
- Required Certifications & Health Mandates [IN-HAND]:
- Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- Active BLS Certification (AHA preferred).
- Documented COVID Vaccine Certification is strictly required.
- Clinical Assets [PREFERRED]: Spanish-speaking language proficiency; strong experience attending high-risk deliveries for immediate resuscitation; direct experience managing therapeutic hypothermia (infant cooling protocols).
