RN Clinic – Cardiology (Travel Assignment)

• Located on the Aurora Sheboygan Hospital campus
• Multiple specialty clinics within the building
• This position is specifically for the Cardiology Clinic

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Accepting candidates with experience in:
  • Cardiology Clinic
  • ICU/CVICU
  • Cath Lab
  • Cardiac Stepdown
• First-time travelers accepted if they can successfully transition from acute care to a clinic setting
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS

Clinic Information

• Number of Rooms: 11
• Average Daily Census: 24–60 patients/day
• Fast-paced clinic environment with patient visits scheduled approximately every 15 minutes
• Patient Population: Adult patients only

Common Diagnoses & Patient Types

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chest pain
• Pre/Post Cath Lab patients
• Post-CABG patients
• Post-valve replacement patients
• Pulmonary hypertension
• Peripheral artery disease (PAD)
• Electrophysiology (EP) patients
• Stress test patients

Required Skills

• Comfortable managing cardiac patient populations
• Procedure authorization
• Entering orders
• Patient education
• In-basket management
• Calling patients regarding abnormal lab results
• Phone triage
• Assist with rooming patients and obtaining EKGs (MA performs the majority)
• Placement of Holter/event monitors (training available if needed)
• Rarely administer IV dobutamine for stress testing

Assignment Details

• Floating: None
• Orientation: Up to 2 weeks depending on experience and comfort level
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Rotating half-day off each week
• Weekend Rotation: None
• On-Call: None
• Holiday Requirement: None
• RTO Approval: Up to 5 days
