Unit: 2West - Cardiac stepdown.

Experience Required: 1-2 years. First time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care

Certs Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. (LVAD PREFERRED), Active LA/Compact license for submission.

Skills Required: Experience required for titrating cardiac drips, some vasopressor titration, insulin drips, managing, and pulling Venous sheaths, managing Temporary pacemakers, Central line management, chest tubes. 
*Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN)

Floating: Units: possibly to 2 North (Medical Stepdown) or Medsurg (1:5-6 ratios)

Patient Types: s/p CABG, Lung surgery (lobectomy/VATS – video assisted thoracic surgery), PCI – percutaneous intervention, AICD (Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) placement, TAVR, etc.
Medical Stepdown overflow: Include but are not limited to - Respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, Sepsis, s/p surgery, s/p cardiac cath with intervention, frequent monitoring and/or intervention, ETOH with CIWA, IVDA, AMS, etc.

Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
