First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel opening for a highly skilled GI/Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) in Madison, Wisconsin. Operating within a dynamic GI/Bronchoscopy Procedures Clinic—Wisconsin's #1 ranked hospital, a premier Level I Trauma Center, and a leading academic referral institution—this position offers a stable weekday routing.   • Weekly Gross: $2,225.00

đź“… SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 5x8-Hours. Features rotating start times scaling between 06:30 AM and 10:30 AM based on unit tracking. No block scheduling configurations are available. Note: Candidates must be prepared to stay past the standard end of a shift to cleanly finish out the day's procedure schedule.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours guaranteed weekly.
  • On-Call & Weekend Requirements: Free from regular weekend shifts, but a weeknight call requirement is mandatory under this unit framework.
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Outstanding, direct 1:1 care mappings inside the procedural rooms.
  • Unit Footprint & Patient Flow: Active 4-room multi-specialty suite managing an average daily census of 20–25 procedural cases.
  • Clinical Scope & Advanced Sedation: Comprehensive pre-op, intraoperative, and post-op care managing all levels of acuity, including PACU/Phase I and Phase II recovery tracks. Travelers must demonstrate high proficiency in administering and monitoring moderate (conscious) sedation utilizing an RN-driven assessment approach targeted directly to patients' Ramsay Sedation Scale scores.
  • Procedure & Recovery Profiling: Direct experience recovering sedated patients from complex GI and pulmonary interventions is required. Workflows encompass Colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Sclerotherapy, and bronchoscopy procedures (navigating both moderate sedation and cases requiring general anesthesia). Core duties require managing specialized equipment like balloon dilators, ERBE electrocoagulation systems, electrosurgical units, polyp snares, and foreign body tools.
  • EMR Charting System: Epic.

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of active inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty is strictly required. Must possess recent experience in a Level I Trauma Center or similar large-scale academic hospital environment—this is a hard stop. Proven charting history with Epic within the past 12 months is preferred. Prior travel nursing history is required.
  • Licensure: Valid Wisconsin State Nursing License or an active Multi-State Compact RN License must be active and fully in-hand at the exact moment of initial profile presentation.
  • Certifications Required: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) provider credentials are completely mandatory.
  • Preferred Credentials: Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) certification is preferred.
  • Vaccine Guidelines: Full compliance with facility guidelines for the Influenza vaccine is required (approved medical or religious exemptions only). COVID-19 vaccination is not required.

Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the hospital center campus are not accepted under travel parameters. 🚗 Mandatory Network Census Floating: Travelers are strictly required to float flexibly as needed across the facility to clinically competent units or like settings based on immediate health-system demands. 🏖️ Upfront Requested Time Off (RTO) Limits: A maximum of 2 pre-approved RTO requests can be detailed under current system guidelines. All desired time off must be explicitly disclosed at the exact moment of initial submission. 📋 Mandatory Pass/Fail Telemetry Testing Matrix: Prior to assignment start, travelers must successfully clear a mandatory adult telemetry exam. The screening enforces strict pass/fail parameters requiring a minimum passing score of 80% or higher, 100% accurate identification of lethal rhythms (Ventricular Fibrillation, Ventricular Tachycardia, Asystole), and zero incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd-degree heart blocks (a single incorrect answer causes automatic failure). Clinicians are allowed a maximum of 2 attempts; a second failure requires submission of an external cardiac interpretation review course certificate before a third final attempt is assigned.
