Description

Registered Nurse - Stepdown

Overview

Location: New York, New York
Contract length: 9 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours per week: 34.5
Schedule note: Every other weekend required

Role Summary

Provides safe, competent nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and approved nursing standards.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Stepdown experience within the last year
2 years of Stepdown experience
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Cardiology experience
Telemetry experience
Quality improvement experience

Preferred Qualifications

EPIC experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Key Responsibilities

Assess and evaluate patient care needs
Deliver and coordinate patient care with the interdisciplinary team
Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions of care, health promotion, and disease prevention
Support patient experience through bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and discharge wrap-up
Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and safety initiatives
