Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position
Location: Portland, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Job Overview
- Float pool position requiring flexibility to work across multiple ICU units including Medical ICU (MICU), Surgical/Trauma ICU (SICU), Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU (CICU), and Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU).
- Patient care includes basic ICU patients such as sedated, intubated, and those on pressors; high complexity patients (e.g., CRRT) are not included.
- Patient ratios: 1:2 in ICU units, 1:3 in Intermediate Care (IMC).
- No call requirements.
- Weekend coverage required approximately 75% of the time.
- Shift options: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 48.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 3 years of Critical Care Float experience, including within the last year
- Experience in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) settings
- Experience in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Experience in Neuro ICU
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU)
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Scrub color: Non-specific.
- Unacceptable attire includes open-toed shoes (no crocs), jeans, clothing with large logos/prints, and any attire with profanity.

- This role requires flexibility and a strong commitment to quality patient care across various ICU settings.
- Patient census and number of beds vary by unit.
