Position Details
- Position: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ED/ER)
- Facility: Mercy Hospital Springfield
- Location: Springfield, MO
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week (must be specified on the submission form)
Schedule
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend Requirement: As required by the facility
- Call Requirement: None

Quick Overview
Seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-volume Level I Trauma Center. This is an Auto-Offer position for qualified candidates. The department is a busy urban trauma center, regional burn center, STEMI, and stroke center with over 200 patients per day.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level I Trauma Center
OR - Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience in a Level II Trauma Center
- Experience must be clearly listed on the resume
- Experience with high-acuity emergency patients
- Trauma experience required
Requirements
- Current RN License (Missouri or eligible for Missouri licensure)
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- AHA PALS
- TNCC
- NIHSS (may be submitted without it but must obtain prior to start)
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric emergency experience
- High-volume trauma center experience (200+ patients/day)
- Stroke, STEMI, Burn, and Trauma experience
- EPIC experience

- Patient Ratio: Typically 4:1 (ratios may change based on census)

- Facility: Level I Trauma & Burn Center, Level II Stroke Center
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate emergency patient care
- Care for trauma, stroke, STEMI, burn, pediatric, and medical emergency patients
- Coordinate care with ancillary departments
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC
- Provide safe, evidence-based patient care
- Follow Mercy policies, nursing standards, and patient safety protocols
