Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac IMCU / PCU Stepdown

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Schedule: 36 Hours/Week (3x12s)

This Level II Trauma Center offers comprehensive specialty services through its Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine Center, Rehabilitation, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women’s Health, and Pediatrics programs. Located in Marquette, the largest community in the Upper Peninsula and home to Northern Michigan University, this assignment offers an excellent opportunity to advance your cardiac and stepdown nursing experience while enjoying the beauty of Michigan’s outdoors.

Position Details

• Specialty: Cardiac IMCU / PCU Stepdown
• Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
• Start Date: July 5, 2026
• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Openings: 3
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: Only if census is low
• Float: Required as needed

• 36-bed Cardiac IMCU / Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit
• Patient Ratios:
  • Cardiac patients: 1:5–6
  • PCU/Stepdown patients: 1:3–4
• Patient Population:
  • Cardiac
  • Telemetry
  • Stepdown-level care
  • Trauma patients
• Equipment:
  • Telemetry monitoring
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner

Common Diagnoses & Treatments

• Chest pain
• VATS procedures
• Stroke/TIA
• Pre- and post-open heart surgery care
• Pacemakers
• Heart blocks
• Vascular conditions
• Congestive heart failure (CHF)

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Associate degree required
• Minimum of 1 year PCU or stepdown experience (2+ years preferred)
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Experience with:
  • Cardiac patient populations
  • Chest tube management
  • Cardiac monitoring
  • Cardiac drips
  • Cardiac stepdown care
• Low-level ICU skills preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Blue or Navy
• No blue jeans
