Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 12-week travel assignment in Connecticut. This position is ideal for a critical care nurse with a strong ICU background who is passionate about providing exceptional care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions in a stepdown setting.

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring progressive or intermediate-level care.
Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in clinical condition.
Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to patient status changes.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments according to physician orders.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes using the electronic medical record.
Adhere to patient safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and hospital policies.
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required.
Previous Epic EMR experience required.
Strong critical care assessment, telemetry interpretation, and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Assignment Highlights
12-week travel assignment.
Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3 x 12-hour shifts).
36 guaranteed hours per week.
Weekend and holiday coverage required based on unit scheduling needs.
