Job Summary – RN First Assist (RNFA) / Operating Room Registered Nurse

• Facility: Northwest Houghton
• Position: RN First Assist / Operating Room RN
• Shift: Days | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week

• Contract Length: 13 Weeks 

   

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience
• Experience as an RN First Assist (RNFA)
• Experience assisting surgeons during operative procedures

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Active RN License
• RN First Assist (RNFA) Certification – Required
• AHA BLS

Preferred Experience

• Cerner EMR

• First assisting during surgery
• Surgical aseptic technique
• Instrument handling
• Surgical patient positioning
• Intraoperative patient care
• Operating room safety
• Sterile field maintenance
• Surgical documentation

Job Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures
• Maintain a sterile surgical field
• Prepare the operating room before procedures
• Position and prepare patients for surgery
• Assist with tissue handling, suturing, retracting, and hemostasis as appropriate
• Monitor patient safety throughout the procedure
• Ensure operating room cleanliness before, during, and after surgery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team
• Document patient care accurately
