Description
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery
Facility: Ardent Health Services Lovelace Women's Hospital
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Start Date: 08/17/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Schedule: 48 Hours/Week (36 Hours option available)
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Charting System: EPIC
Float Required: Yes, to like units within scope as needed
Call Requirement: None
Position Overview:
Job Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients throughout the childbirth process.
- Perform fetal monitoring, sterile vaginal examinations, and obstetrical triage to assess maternal and fetal well-being.
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal births, C-sections, and post-anesthesia recovery.
- Administer IV medications, antihypertensives, anticoagulants, insulin drips, and other obstetric therapies.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Requirements:
License: Active RN License (NM or Compact License accepted; pending accepted before start)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
Other Requirement: Experience with fetal monitoring, obstetrical triage, C-section circulation/recovery, and IV therapy.

Unit: Labor & Delivery (5070-5092)
Patient Ratios: 1:2 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Patient Population: Adult Obstetric Patients & Neonates
Patient Diagnoses: Laboring patients, antepartum complications, high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, postpartum recovery, and obstetric emergencies.
