Description
Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Facility: Ardent Health Services Lovelace Women's Hospital
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Start Date: 08/17/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15)
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours/week
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Charting System: Epic
Float Required: Not Specified
Call Requirement: Yes - Call requirement per 6-week schedule: Approximately 3 weeknight call shifts (5:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday–Thursday) and 2–3 weekend 12-hour call shifts.
Position Overview:
Job duties:
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment while maintaining sterile technique.
- Assist with intraoperative patient monitoring, specimen handling, and blood product administration.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure safe surgical outcomes.
- Perform infection control practices, universal time-out procedures, conscious sedation monitoring, and emergency response during surgery.
Requirements:
License: Registered Nurse License; Pending NM/Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start)
Experience: Minimum 2 years Operating Room RN experience; previous travel experience preferred
Certifications: BLS
Other requirement: Experience in general OR procedures including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, robotics (Da Vinci Xi), infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and on-call availability.

Patient Ratios: 1:1 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Patients undergoing gynecologic, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, ENT, plastic, podiatry, trauma, oral, and robotic-assisted surgical procedures.
