ICU RN – Weekend Nights
Facility Type
- Acute Care Hospital
- Unit: Cardiovascular/Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Unit Size: 15 beds
Shift
- Weekend Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Schedule Options:
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday (36 hours/week)
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday (48 hours/week)
Patient Population / Nursing Cases
This is a high-acuity Critical Care ICU caring for some of the sickest patients in the Nashville area.
Nurse Responsibilities
- Continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring
- Management of ventilated patients
- Titration of vasoactive drips
- Care of post-operative cardiac surgery patients
- Neuro assessments and NIH Stroke Scale
- Management of arterial lines, central lines, and invasive monitoring
- Emergency response and rapid interventions
- Collaboration with intensivists, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, and cardiothoracic surgeons
Staffing
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
- Support staff includes Registered Nurses and Patient Care Technicians.
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Successful completion of a proctored cardiac rhythm (EKG) test
