Job Overview

We're seeking an experienced Stepdown/Telemetry RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Henderson, KY. This position offers the opportunity to care for a diverse PCU/Telemetry patient population while working alongside an experienced and supportive clinical team.

Position Highlights

• 12-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available)
• First to float within skillset
• Potential float to nearby affiliated campuses with advance notice
• Teaching hospital with opportunities to precept students and new hires

Patient Population

• Stepdown/PCU and Telemetry patients
• Sepsis
• CHF
• COPD
• DKA
• Cirrhosis
• Dementia
• Urology, abdominal, and orthopedic surgical patients

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• At least 1 year of recent Stepdown/PCU experience
• At least one completed travel assignment
• Recent Epic EMR experience
• Active Compact RN License
• AHA BLS Certification
• AHA ACLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification

Required Skills

• Telemetry rhythm interpretation (must pass Telemetry testing)
• Initiate and titrate:
  • Insulin drips
  • Heparin drips
  • Cardiac drips
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• Peripheral IV insertion
• Chest tube and drain management
• Continuous BiPAP
• Stable home ventilators
• Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Blood product administration
• Lasix and Protonix drips
• Neutropenic precautions

Schedule & Expectations

• Every third weekend
• Every other holiday
• Navy blue scrubs
• No competing health system or agency logos on scrubs
• Three call-ins may result in contract termination
