Description
Position Details
- Position: PCU/Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Schedule
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac or PCU experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Experience caring for cardiovascular and PCU patients
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
- Experience managing epidurals and chest tubes
- Cardiac drip management experience
- Strong teamwork, communication, and professional attitude
Required Experience
- Cardiac Stepdown/PCU
- Cardiac Telemetry
- Post-open heart surgery care
- Arrhythmia management
- Chest tube management
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Cardiac medication drip management
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Key Responsibilities
- Care for cardiac and vascular patients, including:
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Post CABG/TAVR/Fem-Pop Bypass patients
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Pacemaker and ICD patients
- Post-cardiac catheterization patients
- Thoracotomy and carotid surgery patients
- Chest pain and cardiac telemetry patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Manage cardiac drips including:
- Nitroglycerin
- Heparin
- Amiodarone
- Cardizem
- Dopamine (fixed rate)
- Dobutamine (fixed rate)
- Provide high-quality PCU-level nursing care
- Document care using Epic
