Position Overview

Summa Health is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join the Barberton Campus CAT Scan Department. This position supports the Emergency Department and Stroke Team by performing high-quality CT imaging procedures while providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong trauma and emergency imaging experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently during overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT scans and routine radiographic imaging using Toshiba/Cannon CT equipment.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images while following department protocols.
• Evaluate images with the Radiologist and obtain additional imaging when required.
• Perform emergency CT procedures for trauma and stroke patients.
• Assist physicians during invasive radiology procedures as needed.
• Safely administer IV contrast according to established protocols.
• Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records within the hospital information system.
• Follow radiation safety standards and infection prevention guidelines.
• Collaborate with Radiologists, Emergency Department staff, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient care.
• Respond appropriately during emergency situations, including CPR if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology Program
• ARRT (R) Certification
• Active Ohio Radiographer License
• Minimum 2 years of recent CT Technologist experience (Required)
• Current BLS (AHA) Certification
• Experience performing CT procedures in Emergency Department settings
• Ability to administer IV contrast safely
• Strong patient positioning and imaging skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• CT Registry (ARRT CT) preferred (or ability to obtain within one year)
• Previous experience with:
  • Emergency Department Imaging
  • Stroke Team Procedures
  • Trauma Imaging
• Experience operating Toshiba/Cannon CT Scanners
• Ability to work independently during night shifts

Schedule Information

This position follows a unique rotating schedule:

• Work 3 consecutive shifts
• 1 day off
• Work 3 additional shifts
• The following week:
  • Off 3 days
  • Work 1 shift
  • Off 3 days
• This rotation continues throughout the assignment.
