Facility: Sinai Hospital
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Shift: 3x12 Hour Day Shift (12 hrs)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

- 228-bed Teaching Hospital
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Level III NICU
- Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Accreta Center of Excellence
NICU Unit
- 42-bed NICU
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1–3
- Cares for high-risk and critically ill newborns
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
- Level III NICU experience is mandatory (No exceptions)
- First-time travelers require manager approval
Required Certifications
- BLS
- NRP
- STABLE
Required Skills
- Care of high-risk preterm and term newborns
- Ventilator care (CPAP, NAVA, Conventional Ventilation, Oscillator, Nitric Oxide)
- Central lines (PICC, UAC, UVC, Broviac, Arterial Lines)
- Chest tubes
- NG/PO feedings
- IV therapy and medication administration
- Video EEG and therapeutic cooling
- Family-centered care and collaboration
EMR & Equipment
- EMR: Epic
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Medication System: Pyxis
Floating
- May float to the Women's Care Center for newborn care only
- Travelers float first if needed
Schedule
- Every other weekend required
- No guaranteed block scheduling
- No on-call
- Holiday rotation based on start date
- Time off requires Nurse Manager approval
Orientation
- Day 1: Hospital and unit orientation
- Day 2: Preceptor training
- Day 3: Assigned work buddy before independent assignment
